As an expert in the manufacture of cutting tools for machining aluminium and challenging aluminium alloys, Industrial Tooling Corporation (ITC) will be using MACH (Birmingham NEC, 20-24 April) to introduce the latest additions to its line of UK-manufactured products.

On Stand 555 in Hall 20, ITC will introduce additions to its range for cutting aluminium, including the 3202, 3203, 3204 and 4204 series end mills. These tools will be accompanied by the latest range of cutters for steel, hardened steel and CFRP from ITC and Widia, all supported by tool-holding solutions, attachments and accessories from Big Kaiser.

With ITC’s trochoidal milling range being expanded throughout 2019, examples of these tools will appear alongside the three-flute 3204 and four-flute 4204 series of long-series end mills with chip breakers. Both the three-flute and four-flute end mills have been manufactured from a micro-grain carbide developed with a radical geometry design that offers high core strength and rigidity.

This geometry enables high-feed machining for prolonged periods with maximum material removal rates, reports ITC. With stability assured, end users can run the 3204 and 4204 end mills at high speeds and feeds when reaching into deep cavities and machining side faces.

The geometry design has been adopted by the 3202 series of ball-nosed three-flute end mills that offer a centre-cutting design for complex forms and surfaces that other tools cannot reach. The three-flute 3204 and four-flute 4204 series are available in diameters from 6 to 20 mm, while the ball-nosed 3202 is offered in diameters from 3 to 20 mm – all available with an overall length of 150 mm and a flute length of 80 mm.

For machining steel and exotic materials, ITC will be giving a MACH debut to the 6071-F series of six-flute end mills. Adding to the line of trochoidal end mills, the 6071-F series has a geometry design and composition that is suitable for cutting hard materials. These centre-cutting stub length tools incorporate a harmonic fluting design that minimises vibration and extends tool life. Combining the harmonic flute design with a shallow flute depth and thick core design, the Cupro-coated end mills improve surface finish, reduce stress on both the tool and machine spindle, while improving heat dissipation from the cutting area, says ITC. Available in diameters from 6 to 16 mm, with an overall length from 40 to 72 mm, the flute length has been restricted from 10 to 24 mm to instil rigidity and performance.

To further prolong tool life and stability when undertaking high-feed cutting, the 6071-F series is also available with corner radii options from 0.25 to 1 mm.

As well as giving a MACH debut to a host of innovations, ITC will be keen to introduce the latest Widia series of solid-carbide end mills and indexable end mills, shell mills and face mills, not to mention its range of indexable turning lines. As always, ITC will be supporting the cutting tools with tool holders, collets, chucks, arbors and accessories from Big Kaiser. The Swiss manufacturer will also have angle heads, speed increasers, boring tools, pre-setters and measuring equipment on ITC’s MACH stand.
